"Marrow Fragments"
I
was honored to be selected to create an installation for the 911 tragedy in
New York.
The following images are from the installation, "Marrow Fragments".
Over 150 hand held, fragile air-dried clay busts.
If ever broken, the clay is reclaimed and a new bust is made.
The
concept being, that mass violence is too overwhelming to comprehend and only
breaking it down
to the beauty of the individual in life can we attempt to
absorb the enormous loss.
The original
installation has transformed into an ongoing project that has been distributed
throughout fire stations and synagogues and continues to be exhibited and never forgotten.
